“The Mask—Arrayed” explores the material, technological, and cultural aspects of the most iconic artifact of the Covid-19 crisis: the face mask. In this interdisciplinary essay project, an international group of scholars and artists unmasks the complexity of this seemingly simple object and unveils its many layers and different usages in both material and non-material terms.

In diesem interdisziplinären Projekt demaskiert eine internationale Gruppe aus Forschenden und Kunstschaffenden die Komplexität dieses scheinbar einfachen Objekts und enthüllt in einer Reihe von Essays die vielen Schichten und unterschiedlichen Verwendungen der Maske sowohl im materieller als auch in immaterieller Hinsicht.
