Henry Kalter

Visiting Predoctoral Fellow (Sep 2023-Aug 2024)

Henry Kalter studied philosophy, history, comparative literature, and sociology at the University of Amsterdam. His PhD project sets out to reconstruct the concept of “rigor” in scientific research, in both its philosophical and historical dimensions. The project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Huub Dijstelbloem (University of Amsterdam) and Prof. Dr. Federica Russo (Utrecht University). Henry Kalter’s research is based at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) and funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Before starting his PhD in 2022, he was a lecturer (2017–2022) in philosophy of science, statistics, and research methodology at Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics College (PPLE). Currently, he is a Visiting Predoctoral Fellow in the “Practices of Validation in the Biomedical Sciences” Research Group led by Prof. Dr. Lara Keuck.
