Carola Sachse joined the Research Program on the History of the Max Planck Society (GMPG) in 2016. She is a professor (i.R.) at the Institute for Contemporary History of the University of Vienna. She received her PhD in Communications and History (1987) and Habilitation (2001) entitled “Der Hausarbeitstag. Gerechtigkeit und Gleichberechtigung in Ost und West 1939–1994” from the Technical University Berlin.
Carola’s current research focuses on the history of science and gender in the twentieth century. Within the framework of the GMPG project, she deals with the history of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs. Her general research interests include history of science in the twentieth century, gender history, and corporate and social history.
