Digitization opens up completely new possibilities for the humanities. Open Access, which provides free access to scientific literature and other materials on the Internet, not only promotes international networking among researchers, but also makes “knowledge structures clearer, more comprehensible and, in a way, more reliable.” So argues director Jürgen Renn in this interview for the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF).
