The Challenge of Systemic Crises for Science (in German)
"The Corona crisis has not only put science at the centre of public discourse. It has also revealed its vulnerability." In his keynote address at the annual conference of the Deutsches Klima-Konsortium (DKK), Prof. Dr. Jürgen Renn, Director at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, explains the challenges science faces in dealing with systemic crises - such as the corona pandemic and climate change - and how it should address them.
About This Series
The climate policy of the early 2020s will determine whether Germany, and Europe, will be climate neutral by the middle of the century. At its annual digital conference on 15 April, the German Climate Consortium discussed with Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze, Parliamentary State Secretary Dr. Michael Meister, Professor Jürgen Renn and other guests how we can set the course for this goal over the next ten years.
