Media Officer

Verena is Media Officer at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and manages the Institute’s media productions. This includes developing new formats, producing and editing material, and managing the online presentation of media projects.

Verena received her Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication from Passau University in Germany and has a Master in Philosophy in Film Studies from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Her MPhil thesis dealt with the use of cinema in contemporary natural history museums.

Verena has formerly worked for the Munich-based museum project BIOTOPIA, where she developed and launched their website and social media communication. She has also worked on photographic commissions for various organizations and companies and acted as a photographer/videographer for several TEDx-events in Munich. She was further active as a screenwriter and script editor.
