The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) is committed to Open Access to promote the free exchange of knowledge. With our MPIWG sites we aim to make content relevant to research in history of science and in cultural heritage studies as openly available as possible.

MPIWG Materials

Content displayed on MPIWG sites for which MPIWG is holding rights can generally be reused in compliance with the Creative Commons cc-by-sa License, provided that this license is specifically referred to or that the contents are marked accordingly. For uses not covered by this license a prior written permission by MPIWG is mandatory.

Material of Other Institutions or Rights Holders

Contents of other institutions or rights holders on MPIWG sites cannot be reused without prior permission of the holding institution or other rights holder, unless specifically stated otherwise.

Take-down Policy

Copyrights and other rights of use of contents and documents are carefully examined before being published on this site or, if applicable, appropriate Creative Commons Licenses for reuse are assigned. Rights holders who consider their content has been published on MPIWG sites in an unauthorized manner are asked to contact us immediately. In the event of violations of rights we will take down the contents and documents in question.
