Qiao Yang (MPIWG), Eireen Shea (Grinnell College), and Ittai Weinryb (Bard Graduate Center) have been awarded a grant amounting to €20,000 from the Fritz Thyssen Foundation for a conference on "The Golden Horde: Art, Material Culture, and Architecture, 1227–1502." The collaborative event, to take place at the MPIWG December 7–8, 2023, aims at exploring knowledge developments in the fields of architecture, textiles, metalwork, ceramics, or painting in their Eurasian context.
