Open Science in University–Industry Research Collaboration in China: State of Affairs at the Policy-Level and Preliminary Evidence From the Field
- 14:00 to 15:30
- Colloquium
- Lise Meitner Research Group
- Annina Sofia Lattu
Open science, meaning all the different technology-enabled initiatives to strengthen openness of science, has become a target of national ambitions all around the world, including in China. This Colloquium will discuss the open science movement in China in general and will also zoom into the topic of open science practices in university-industry research collaboration (UIRC). It is based on Annina Lattu’s LMRG Observations paper draft “Open science in China: What kind of openness is fostered in the science superpower?”, which presents a broad overview of open science policy development as well as open science outcomes regarding open access and open data practices in China. Lattu will also discuss the more detailed context of her doctoral study – open science practices in UIRC in China and will share passages of the preliminary empirical work, as well as discuss her ongoing research and future research plans.

About This Series
The LMRG Colloquium is a venue for members and guests of the Lise Meitner Research Group, "China in the Global System of Science," to share work in progress on an ongoing basis. It is an opportunity to raise questions, discuss methodological challenges, or get feedback on preliminary conclusions. We aim to create a supportive atmosphere that combines rigorous criticism with genuine curiosity.
