Natural Science (Chemical-Technological and Mineralogical-Gemological) Knowledge in Georgian and Eastern Manuscripts Preserved in the Depositories of Georgia

This seminar will highlight a multidisciplinary project on the mineralogical-gemological (historical gemology) and chemical-technological knowledge within Georgian and Eastern manuscripts preserved in depositories in Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia. The seminar will feature two main presentation sessions, one by Dr. Irina Gogonaia and one by Dr. Tamar Abuladze from the Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts in Tbilisi.

The event organized by Prof. Dr. Dagmar Schäfer (Max Planck Institute for the history of Science, MPIWG) and Dr. Irina Gogonaia (Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts). The event is funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (SRNSF) - within the framework of the project (FR_21-620).
