This keynote is part of the workshop “Scientific Practice and Religious Experience in the Premodern World,” organized by Nuno Castel-Branco and Katja Krause on behalf of the Research Group “Experience in the Premodern Sciences of Body and Soul.” The workshop explores the interaction between personal religious experiences and the study of nature in premodern Europe.
Peter Harrison’s lecture surveys the past two decades of scholarship on science and religion, identifying its accomplishments and indicating possible new and fruitful lines of investigation.
Peter Harrison is a Professorial Research Fellow and the Director Emeritus of the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Queensland.
