Jonathan Sterne is Professor and James McGill Chair in Culture and Technology in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University. He has written widely on the history of sound and other topics, and is currently at work on projects dealing with signal processing, impairment phenomenology, and recent transformations in musical instruments. While at MPIWG, he is working on a book with Mara Mills entitled Tuning Time: Histories of Sound and Speed.
