The Research Communication and Management (RCM) team is responsible for academic management and communication, enabling collaboration and expansion across three core areas: research communication and academic dialogue; collaborations and networks; and career development and mentoring. The team provides a range of services and formats in supporting the Institute’s researchers and connecting its perspectives in the history of science to wider social themes.

Verena Braun (Media Officer)
Verena Braun (+49 30 22667 296, room 252) is Media Officer at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. She manages the Institute’s audiovisual media productions, including developing new formats, producing and editing material, and managing the online presentation of multimedia projects.

Alina Enzensberger (Research Coordinator)
Alina Enzensberger is on parental leave February 2025–January 2026. During this time the role of Research Coordinator is being covered by Laura Keck.
Alina Enzensberger (+49 30 22667 351, room 259) is the Research Coordinator at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. She is responsible for supporting the development of the Institute's research events program with the aim of facilitating scholarly dialogue, designing and implementing career support for junior scholars in various formats as well as advancing the Institute-wide international guest program in liaison with all units of the MPIWG.

Stephanie Hood (Deputy Head of Research Communication & Management)
Stephanie Hood (+49 30 22667 315, room 252) is Deputy Head of the Research Communications & Management Team where she is responsible for the MPIWG's public communications strategy including digital platforms (website, social media), print media, and audiovisual media, as well as the Journalist-in-Residence program, internal training in public communications, public outreach events such as Berlin Science Week. She has a special interest in inclusive public communications in the history of science.

Laura-Elena Keck (Interim Research Coordinator)
Laura-Elena Keck (+49 30 22667 310, room 259) is the Interim Research Coordinator at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science from January 2025 to April 2026. In this role, she is responsible for supporting the development of the Institute's research events program with the aim of facilitating scholarly dialogue, designing and implementing career support for junior scholars in various formats as well as advancing the institute-wide international guest program in collaboration with all units of the MPIWG.

Mika Kößler (Research Assistant)
Mika Kößler (Room 255) is a Research Assistant in the Research Communication and Management Team of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. His tasks include writing, editing and translating content for the website and social media as well as managing the Institute's image and contact databases. He also supports the media officer with video and audio recordings and editing.
Mika Kößler is currently studying a Master's degree in Social Sciences at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In his studies he is concerned with the interplay of politics, science and law. Among other things, he is particularly interested in science as a point of reference for political legitimacy and the influence of politics and economics on the science system.

Niclas Look (Student Assistant)
Niclas Look (room 255) is Student Assistant in the Research Communication and Management Team of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. Together with Mika Kößler, he works on providing content for digital and print media, content management, and research communications on public platforms.
He is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Communication Science and Philosophy at the Freie Universität Berlin. His focus lies on the system-theoretical analysis of small group associations and organizations, as well as the political history of ideas in antiquity.

Hansjakob Ziemer (Head of Research Communication and Management )
Hansjakob Ziemer (+49 30 22667 242, room 254) is Head of Research Communication and Management at the Institute. He is responsible for creating and maintaining cooperations with Institutes worldwide. Hansjakob also coordinates teaching exchanges with other institutions.
